Recently, representatives of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australian Government and Collaboration for Knowledge, Innovation, and Technology Australia and Indonesia (KONEKSI) visited the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada for a three-day from July 23 to 25, 2024. The visit began with a welcome by Dr. Sigit Sunarta, S.Hut., M.P., M.Sc. as Dean of the Faculty of Forestry UGM along with Dwiko Budi Permadi, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D. as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, and Dr. Kaharuddin, S.Hut., M.Si. as Vice Dean for Assets Finance and Human Resources, as well as Prof. Dr. Ahmad Maryudi, Chairman of Sebijak Institute.
This visit is part of a research grant project from KONEKSI (grant link) titled “The Ridge to The Reef of Integrated Watershed Management Approach (IWMA) to Foster The Socio-Ecology Climate and Livelihoods Resilience of Small Islands in Eastern Indonesia”. Sebijak Institute Faculty of Forestry UGM leads the project, cooperating with local partners namely Pattimura University (UNPATTI), Artha Wacana Christian University (UKAW), and Mataram University (UNRAM). It also collaborates with The Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR) and Australian National University (ANU). Running from July 2023 to October 2024, the projects include surveys, training, focus group discussions, and regional-level policy dialogues. Soon, a national-level policy dialog will be held as a follow-up to the results of the regional-level policy dialog.
The visit was conducted by Rhiezka Aulia, a representative of the DFAT, accompanied by Ms. Indriani a representative of the Finance and Administration section of KONEKSI. The purpose of the visit was to observe the administrative and financial management system at the project, faculty, and university levels. The outcome of the visit is to develop a synergized and systematic financial administration management that can support the successful implementation of the project.
